Do 3G and 802.16 Compete?

Long interview with Anurag Lal, senior vice president of Business Development at iPass. Thoughtful answers to a few tough questions, one of which was: "What is the difference between 3G and 802.16—aren't these competing technologies?"

"I believe 802.16 will coexist very well with WiFi as well as 3G technologies. In essence help reduce the backhaul cost for those two technology deployments. Over a period of time we will see, in the case of WiFi, more metro-area deployments were WiMAX or 802.16 will be used as the backhaul technology."

Posting Photos

Here's another reason to like Blogger: posting photos is simple. Not as simple as TypePad, but simple enough for a free service. Here's a picture of my friend Mark and his daughter Maddie. Mark needs to improve his diet.

go@blogger.com

Love the jingle for Blogger Mobile -- catchy and kitschy, just like
a lot of blogging itself. I'm sending this post through email, just
to see what happens to the formatting.

My fourth post

I want to add some links to this weblog. I want the header to look like the others in the sidebar. The code for this site find the "Recent posts" and Archives" headers stored on a server running Blog Blog. This simply means Pyra, the company bought by Google for Blogger, registered the domain to host the new template images. And it's light years from what I should be doing, which is preparing for my interview tomorrow morning.

My third post

Hot damn, Blogger's new keyboard shortcuts for creating hyperlinks (the bane of my typing existence) work in Firefox and Safari -- my two web browsers of choice. Sweet. I wish I could do that with TypePad on Betterness.

My Second Post

Glad to read half of Blogger's staff uses Macs. Also interesting to read the possibilities for combining push-button publisher Blogger, one-gigabyte-storehouse Gmail, and Friendster-clone Orkut.

My first post

Not sure why I'm here, other than to avoid my real home. I shouldn't stray.
